Signed by both Marjorie Mosser and Kenneth Roberts on the first free end page. It has also been signed and inscribed to "Elva | With Love, | Clara | December 25, 1939". This was Clara Claasen, Kenneth Roberts' long-time editor at Doubleday, Doran.     Voris, Emma Frances:  The New Columbian White House Cookery.  n.p.: Monarch Book Company, n.d. c1893. . Very good in its original blue-gray cloth covered boards with black text and decorations stamped on the spine and black text with an image of the White House on the front board. A small quarto of 9 1/2 by 7 inches with rubbing and wear to the cloth at the head and heel of the spine which also has a number of spots and stains. The cloth over the tips of the boards are worn through. The first free end page was loose, but is now tipped back in. The contents are tanned throughout due to the poor quality of the paper; and the rear hinge is starting. 527 pages including an index. Illustrated with a frontispiece from a photograph and four plates as well as vignettes throughout from drawings. The four plates illustrate buildings at the World's Columbian Exposition.
